Monsieur comte, hello again! Yes, I did realize the Lorraine Cross was the symbol of the French Resistance, that's exactly why I chose it. I hope it doesn't cause French people to want to eviscerate me. I was really just getting at the idea that in different contexts symbols can mean totally different things... in Hindu/Buddhist cultures, the swastika is a symbol of health and good luck. When I went to China, a lot of the Buddha statues had swastikas on their foreheads, like Charles Manson...

Yes, I realize the crest of Bourbon is really the symbol of monarchic France. I read somewhere that the blue of the Tricolore represents the Bourbons, the red represents the Capetians, and the white represents the French navy... a lot of the reason the Tricolore exists in Rex Mundi has to do with some of the history behind the world I never had a chance to get into in the comic itself, but if I had the chance, I'd probably re-do the monarchist flags as the Bourbon crest. Ah, well!

The good news is, a new French company is republishing RM en François! How about that? Thanks so much for tracking down the books in English - I look forward to hearing what you think about the final two.

bonsoir monsieur arvid et congratulations (withe french accents please!)

I've just finished tome 4, fabulous ! Lorraine posing as hitler and the Lorraine's corss as a facist symbol that's uchronia with a great A. Did you know that Lorraine's cross was the french resistance symbol against nazis during ww2 ? what a provocation !!!

Also with symbols, i see a lot french blue-white-red flags used by monarchic franec in RM, in fact this is the symbol of revolutionary france, monarchic is more the 3 lys flowers or a total white.

Well for bad news, only the first tome of RM is publicated in France (such a shame), the editor (semic) went bankrupty because of DC. So I did bought the other tomes in english from amazon.
Whatever if you come back to Paris you have ar least one fan ( i'm doing a liitle lobbying so maye some more) to welcome you as a hero !

Au revoir et à bientot...
